Pokeo The app

Privacy

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The app has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. The little that does leave your browser or your phone is explained here: what it is, who receives it and why.

What follows is the little that is left to say, said without formulas.

Who is responsible

The controller of the data of this site and of the Pokeo app is José Antonio Neto Suárez, tax number 29607219D, C/ Manuel Vela 37, 21440 Lepe (Huelva), Spain. For anything about your data: hello@utropia.es.

Cookies

There are none. Not first party, not third party, not session cookies, not measurement, not advertising. These pages are served without a session precisely so they can be cached as they are, and a single cookie would break that. Which is also why you will never see a cookie banner here: there would be nothing to consent to.

Analytics

None is installed today. If a way of counting visits is ever added, it will be one that does not follow people across sites, and it will be described here before it is switched on, with the date of the change.

Server logs

Like any website, the server hosting it records the requests it receives: IP address, date, page requested and browser. That keeps the site working, catches faults and shows whether someone is attacking it. Those logs are not cross referenced with anything, are not used to profile anyone, and are kept for the minimum time needed.

If you write to me

When you write to me, I have your address and what you wrote. This site has no forms: you write by email or from the app. I use it to reply to you and for nothing else. There is no mailing list, no newsletter, and your address is neither shared nor sold. If you want the message deleted, ask and it is deleted.

The app: what stays on your phone

Your course progress, answers, streak and settings are stored on your own phone, not on a server. No account or email is needed to use it. There are no ads, no usage analytics, and nobody is tracked across apps or websites. The daily reminder is scheduled by the phone itself: nothing is sent for it to ring.

The app: crash reports

If the app crashes, it sends a technical report to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) so the bug can be found and fixed: what failed, the phone model, the iOS version, the app version and a random installation identifier. It does not include your name or your email. Reports are deleted after 90 days at most. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in the app working.

The app: purchases

Payment is handled by Apple: Pokeo never sees your card or your Apple Account. To know which pass you have, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.), which receives Apple's purchase receipt together with an anonymous identifier generated by the app: which product you bought, when, in which currency and whether the subscription is still active. It is used to give you access to what you paid for and to restore your purchases. It is kept for as long as needed to manage them and as tax law requires. The legal basis is the performance of the contract.

The app: if you write to me

If you write to me from the app, I receive your message, your email so I can reply, the app version and the language, together with the IP address and browser it was sent from, so abuse can be stopped. It reaches me as an email sent through Resend, a delivery service that only carries it, and nothing is stored on the server. If the server cannot be reached at that moment, the message is kept as a report in Sentry so it is not lost. I use it only to read it and reply. The legal basis is your consent, given by sending it.

Data outside the European Union

Sentry, RevenueCat and Resend are US companies, so what they receive may be processed there. Those transfers rely on the safeguards the GDPR requires: the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. None of them may use this data for their own purposes, and it is not sold to anyone.

Your rights

The General Data Protection Regulation gives you the right to know what data exists about you, to correct it, to have it erased, to restrict its use, to object to it and to take it with you. Because the app has no accounts, whatever exists is tied to random identifiers rather than to your name: to exercise any of those rights, write to hello@utropia.es and I will help you find it. I will reply within a month. You may also complain to the Spanish data protection authority (aepd.es).

Children

This site and the app are intended for adults. The app is rated 18+ on the App Store and does not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes and what was added is explained. It does not change quietly.
